The resolution for plan approval for Cedarbrook Road Industrial Park was approved at the Feb. 15 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting.

The plan calls for subdivision of the 36.5 acre lot into two parcels. One lot will be 10.3 acres and will have access to Schantz Road; the other lot will be 25.2 acres and have access to Cedarbrook Road. The property has boundaries of Cedarbrook Road, Schantz Road, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Route 222 Bypass. The property is in the highway industrial district.

A resolution for the Stone Hill Meadows, Phase 2 development was also approved. This development is along Gehman Road and will have 85 single family lots.

There was an executive session prior to the meeting to discuss a personnel matter and real estate issues.

A resolution was approved for an amended sewer planning module for Spring Creek Properties. Commissioner Doug Brown recused himself from the vote due to conflict of interest.

A representative from the Lehigh County Office of Children and Youth Services wrote a thank you for the pajamas and books donated by Lower Macungie Township residents through a program promoted by the township.

In other meeting business, Jarred Musser, from Trumball Corp., requested closure of Schoeneck Road March 30 to April 4 for removal and replacement of the bridge over the railroad tracks. The portion to be closed is from Alburtis Road and Scenic View Drive. There will be a detour in place on Alburtis Road, Route 100, Gehman Road and Scenic View Drive during the closure.

A resolution was approved for a grant application for a 15 percent match commitment to undertake the project known as Lower Macungie Township Sanitary Sewer Rehab.

With the approval of the Volunteer Service Earned Income Tax Credit Program, eligible volunteers who have minimum criteria for volunteer service credit were approved by the commissioners.

The request for lighting along the Timmer Trail is being actively pursued.

The project budget for the Quarry Park Field Lighting was increased by $4,000 for redesign and coordination with PPL. This budget increase is expected to save the township additional charges of up to $40,000 in cabling costs.
