UMYA
The Upper Milford Youth Association is seeking volunteers to help with all its sports programs.
President Matthew Skekel said UMYA is a 100 percent volunteer run club including all coaches and the board of directors.
Volunteers keep UMYA a successful, safe and fun place for kids to enjoy, learn and play sports with their friends and neighbors.
The following volunteer positions need to be filled:
•Baseball Coordinator: organize teams and work with the leagues UMYA teams play in. Coordinate uniforms and fees needed to be paid (two or three hours per week in season)
•Basketball Coordinator: duties similar to baseball coordinator (two or three hours per week in season)
•Sponsorship Coordinator: Work with current sponsors and look for new sponsorship opportunities (less than one hour per week)
•Uniform Coordinator: Work with individual sport coordinators in ordering and organizing team uniforms (maybe five hours for each sport season - winter, spring, fall)
•Board members: One or two board members to serve one evening a month for 10 months of the year (no meetings in July or December) and help guide and make decisions regarding UMYA.
•Soccer volunteers: Due to the success and size of the soccer program a few sub-coordinators are needed, including: recreational soccer coordinator, travel soccer coordinator and micro soccer coordinator.
Those interested in any of these positions should contact Matt Skekel or Susannah Detwiler at sdetwiler@rocketmail.com.
