Walk, run on April 7

For the last eight years, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley’s run, walk and kids fun run has been a Lehigh Valley favorite of runners and walkers alike.

This year’s event will take place April 7 at the Ironton Rail Trail, Coplay.

PCFLV’s goal this year is $80,000.

The event will feature a 8K run, 5K walk, and a kids fun run and obstacle course for kids 12 and under.

There will also be a raffle with fabulous prizes, music, food, entertainment.

Registration, packet pick up, fruit and snacks will be available 7-8 a.m. The welcome is from 8-8:30 a.m.

The 8K run will start 8:30 a.m. with the 5K walk at 9 a.m. and the kids fun run and obstacle course at 10:30 a.m.

The awards ceremony and post-race lunch and refreshments is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 8K run (under 18 not eligible), top two males and females in these age groups: under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 plus, top individual fundraiser, top fundraising team, most spirited team, largest team.

Early packet pickup is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 6 at Coplay Park Pavilion.

Each 5K walk and 8K run participant registered by March 12 is guaranteed a T-shirt and goody bag.

Anyone who registers after that or in person on race day will be given one subject to availability.

Bibs are provided to runners; water stations are provided; free food; entertainment; community resource information tables; prizes.

Those forming a team and creating a password will need to give that password to each registrant to allow them to register for your team.
