The League of Women Voters of Lehigh County will present “Minority Inclusion” at the February Hot Topics Luncheon 11:30 a.m. at the Superior Restaurant, Emmaus. Milagros Canales, award-winning community liaison and advocacy worker, will share information about the needs of the minority community, how government, community and volunteers are helping and how our community organizations can be more inclusive. Feb. 13

The Parkland Art League will meet 7 p.m. at Macungie Institute, 510 East Main Street, (Route 100) Macungie. Robert Barber will demonstrate figure painting in oils. Barber is an avid plein air and studio painter and is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.

Feb. 15

The Lower Macungie Library will celebrate Chinese New Year 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with one of its festive cultural programs for the whole community. Join them for Chinese cultural shows, Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting, red envelopes, raffle, displays and food. Sign up for special events including a Hulusi performance (Chinese musical instrument) 6 p.m. which will be followed 6:15 p.m. by a recitation of the Dizigui (Chinese classic book).
