HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP: Church accepting baked goods donations

Big hearted! Requests for baked good donations for the Allentown Soup Kitchen are being made for Feb. 12.

Baked goods decorated for Valentine’s Day and cherry pies will be thoughtfully accepted and may be dropped off in Heidelberg Church’s Fellowship Hall 6-7 p.m.

According to Heidelberg Church soup kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 125 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the soup kitchen.

The meal included chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, tomato rice soup, applesauce and delicious chocolate desserts from many Heidelberg bakers.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Doris and Richard Koenig, Shirley Boger, Robin Koch, Barbara Matthia and Linda Hausamann.

To find out more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5281.
