Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. It might not be a subject, but my favorite class is Chorale because I get to sing and praise God with my friends and we do fun things including trips to Boston or even Europe along with getting to sing at Carnegie Hall.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Along with Academic Excellence Awards and Principal’s Honor Roll, I have received several scholarships and first place awards for my dance endeavors. I hold several national titles as does my competition team at MJ Dance Center. I have been recognized at the Freddy Awards for my work choreographing the spring musicals at EHS which include “Mary Poppins,” “Once Upon a Mattress” and “Miss Saigon: School Edition.”

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I train in ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, hip-hop and lyrical at MJ Dance Center where I am on the Senior Elite Competition team. At school, I am part of the internationally recognized EHS Chorale under the direction of Rita Cortez. At the end of the month, I will participate in the PMEA District Chorus Festival. Along with being the president of French Club, I am also the secretary for the drama department, run by Jill Kuebler, for which I choreograph the musicals. Currently, we are beginning work on the spring musical, “West Side Story.”

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I will go to college to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge came about when I began to grow as a dancer. Years ago, it was difficult for me to look at myself in the mirror as I critiqued every small thing about myself that was imperfect. Eventually, I learned to try to embrace those imperfections that make up who I authentically am.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who spread the love and word of God and who spread happiness to all.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My mom Sharon, my dad David, my brother Paul, my dogs Kona and Buster and my gecko Goby.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my family because they are so willing to provide me with support and love. I also admire my peers who all have taught me different things. They each have used their gifts to impact my life and better the lives of many others.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. To everyone: Never try to be anyone else. Don’t base your wardrobe off of someone else. Don’t base your music taste off of someone else. Don’t try to be like anyone else except that person hiding deep inside of you.
