Suspected Allen Twp bank robber taken into custody

State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, took a 19-year-old man into custody Jan. 29 in connection with the Jan. 26 bank robbery in Allen Township, Northampton County.

Police allege Dylan James Karba, last known address in Philadelphia, was the man who entered the First Northern Bank and Trust, 1449 Nor-Bath Boulevard, Allen Township, at 1:35 p.m. on that day.

According to police, Karba allegedly fled the bank with money after passing a note to a bank teller. He then fled the area to the west of the bank toward Northampton Borough on foot.

Karba was charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

According to police at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 29 he was at the Northampton County Booking Center awaiting his preliminary arraignment.

In a second bank robbery, which occurred 12:45 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Wells Fargo Bank, 4826 Route 309, North Whitehall Township, a white male with a thin build in his early 20s, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, approached a bank teller and passed a note demanding money.

The man is described as wearing a yellow, long-sleeve, button down shirt, bluejeans and white baseball cap with a logo.

He fled the bank on foot with the money, heading toward Route 309 and Clauss Road.
