LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Better safe than sorry

Members of South Whitehall Township Emergency Services organizations recently conducted an active shooter drill at Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall Township.

Taking part in the Jan. 22 drill were officers from the South Whitehall Township Police Department; paramedics and EMTs from Cetronia Ambulance Corps and Cetronia, Greenawalds, Woodlawn and Tri-Clover volunteer firefighters.

Board members and administrators from Asbury were also on hand as well as church volunteers who served as “victims.”

“Asbury Church is pleased to partner with our local heroes to help enhance knowledge of plans, allow participants to improve their own performance, and identify opportunities to improve capabilities to respond to real-life events,” Asbury Church Director of Communications Cristina M. Lenner wrote in a email to The Press.
