Cedar Crest College

Scholarship offered

There will be a scholarship competition day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27 at Cedar Crest College, 100 College Dr, Allentown. The will be a recognition and announcement program beginning at 3 :30 p.m. in Alumnae Hall.

Diversity center opened

Cedar Crest College cut the ribbon on the Center for Diversity and Global Engagement on Jan. 15 in front of the Allen House, Cedar Crest College, 100 College Drive, Allentown. A reception and tours of the new facility followed the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The renovated building will house the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of Global Initiatives and International Programs, and International Student Services.

Moravian College

Kleintop named BS-LGBT board chair

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center’s Board of Directors has elected Dr. Lizabeth Kleintop as the board chair. She was the treasurer of the board since the center started She plans to serve as board chair for one year, her final year on the board.

She is an associate director of graduate programming and accreditation at Moravian College.

Northampton Community College

Tour the Bethlehem Campus and learn about the majors offered, financial aid, clubs, organizations, career services, opportunities to meet faculty and current students.

The tour begins in the Admissions Office, 3835 Green Pond Road, and last approximately two hours. The times and dates are 3:30 p.m. Jan.18, 11:30 a.m. Jan. 30, 3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 22.

Northampton Community College will honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with the program: “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Celebration of Non-Violent Social Change.” The free, open to the public event will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 30 in Lipkin Theatre, Kopecek Hall, Bethlehem Campus.

The keynote speaker will be Reverend Dr. Calvin O. Butts III, president of the State University of New York at Old Westbury, and pastor of the nationally-renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church in New York City.
