Midterm exams will be held Jan. 19, 22 and 23. Jan. 19 is periods one, two and three. Jan. 22 is periods four, five and six. Jan. 23 is periods seven, eight and nine. If students have an exam, they are expected to be there for that exam. Transportation is provided at the normal time in the morning for the first exam starting 7:23 a.m. Transportation home is also provided for students 1 p.m. If students do not have transportation, the library is open for a quiet study session or the cafeteria for a normal study hall. Vacation will not be approved and if a student is absent, only a doctor’s note will be accepted and will need to be taken immediately upon return to Ms. Rodriguez’s office which is located directly across from the auditorium in the lobby.

Students in grades nine, 10 and 11 received a hard copy of the 2018-2019 Emmaus High School Program of Studies during their flex period. Students should review this booklet with parents or guardians so they know exactly what to sign up for on course registration day Feb. 27.

Looking ahead, EHS students, under the direction of Jill Kuebler and Rita Cortez, will present “West Side Story” March 21 through 25.

A complimentary performance for senior gold card members will be held 6 p.m. March 20. Gold card members must present East Penn School District gold cards at the door on the evening of the performance. The gold card will serve as the ticket. Gold cards will not be accepted at other performances.

“West Side Soda Shop” will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Feb 24 in the EHS cafeteria. Enjoy performance previews of numbers from the show, ice cream sodas/sundaes and a retro 1950s atmosphere. Ticketing information will be available soon. Tickets for the musical will go on sale in February.

The next Buzz Magazine meeting is Jan 24 in the learning lab. New members are always welcome.

Kid to Kid/SADD will meet right after school in Room 227 Jan. 18. Bring your SADD clothing order form with payment if you would like to place an order.

Global Citizens will meet Jan. 30. Come with an idea for the annual T-shirt. All are welcome.

Boys tennis sign-ups will be held Feb. 5 after school in Cafeteria 1.

Boys volleyball sign- ups will be held Feb. 5 after school in Cafeteria 1.

Track sign-ups will be held Feb. 6 in the sports center lobby after school.

Boys lacrosse sign- ups will be held Feb. 7 in Room 577 after school.

Girls lacrosse sign- ups will be held 2:45 p.m. Feb. 7 in Room 578.

Softball sign-ups will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 8 in Cafeteria 1.

Mud club meets 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Come if you would like to make projects with clay and glaze finish them. All are welcome to play with clay and enjoy snacks at Mud Club.
