Ruth S. Allen, 87, died Dec. 21, 2017, in her home at Sterling Heights Community, Bethlehem. Born in Somerville, N.J., she resided in New Jersey for many years before moving to Bethlehem in 2015. She was the wife of the late James Allen for 68 years.

She was a past member of Wilson Memorial Church, Watchung, N.J.

She was active with the Muhlenberg Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, Plainfield, N.J., for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband Paul Dickert of Bethlehem; a son, Thomas J. Sr. and his wife Cathy of North Plainfield, N.J.; three grandchildren, Amy and her husband James Fisher of Bethlehem, Amanda and her husband Patrick Smith of Hoboken, N.J. and Thomas A. Jr. of North Plainfield, N.J.; and two great-granddaughters, Alivia and Andria Fisher.

Arrangements were made by James Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
