Struck by vehicle, man dies in Washington Township

A 54-year-old Washington Township man was killed when he was struck by a motor vehicle in the 7900 Block of Route 873, Washington Township.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said Ibrahim Azar, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at 8:11 p.m. Jan. 5 at the scene by Deputy Coroner Jackie Seidman.

An autopsy was performed Jan. 6. Azar died from multiple blunt forces injuries, Grim said, adding the manner of his death is pending completion of the investigation.

In addition to the coroner’s office, Azar’s death is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem.
