Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite class was AP U.S. History, which I had in 10th grade. It was the first AP class in which I was enrolled. Before the class, I was really nervous I would not be able to handle it but I am still very proud how well I did and how much I improved as a writer, orator and overall student. I learned how to really study, take notes and prepare for a class and it showed me I am ready to take college classes. I highly recommend taking this class as an introduction into taking AP level classes.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received the Award of Academic Excellence each year, the Excellence in Biology Award, APUSH Excellence Award and have been on Principal’s Honor Roll each marking period. I am a member of both National Honor Society and French Honor Society. In addition to academics, I am a 4-year varsity letter winner for Emmaus field hockey and I have received the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad Scholar of Distinction and I was selected as the Emmaus field hockey EPC Scholar Athlete.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. In addition to playing field hockey at Emmaus, I was part of the Firestyx indoor club team and a Lower Macungie Youth Association field hockey coach. I am also in EHS chorale and play viola in the school orchestra. I am the secretary of French club, a member of Key Club and the president of Tri-M Music HonorSociety.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I am attending Penn State University Park to major in energy business and finance in the College of Earth and Mineral Science.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date was balancing year-round field hockey with school work and my other extracurricular activities. Field hockey can be mentally and physically exhausting, but I am very proud to have fought through injury and adversity and to have contributed to our success over the past four years. It has definitely helped shape me into a better person and shows I can do anything if I really try.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I hope to be remembered as a positive example for my peers and teammates.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My family consists of my parents Paul and Tammy, my brother Matthew and my dog Lucky.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my brother, Matthew because he is very hardworking and knows exactly what he wants to do for the rest of his life. I have always looked up to him from when I was little and I try to be as caring and easy-going as he is.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Never be afraid to try new things no matter what grade you are in. Try to be involved in everything you can in high school. This is still a time for learning and to see what you love so don’t be afraid to try something new, just make sure you enjoy it. It is better to try new things than regret you never tried later.
