Upper Macungie police have issued an advisory regarding theft of mail in the township.
Community Service Division Police Officer William Rohrbach said the police department has received one report of mail theft.
Police offer the following suggestions for residents:
· If you are mailing holiday cards with money or gift cards, mail these cards either from an actual mailbox or go to the post office. Placing a card in a personal mailbox with the flag up may bring attention there may be something of value in the mailbox.
·Keep an eye out in the neighborhood for suspicious activities.
This time of year, thieves will not only be looking for mail, but also for packages that are outside.
If any suspicious activities are seen, call 610-437-5252.
