LEHIGH COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Lehigh County Commissioner President Marty Nothstein presented farewell plaques to outgoing commissioners David Jones, Thomas Creighton and Michael Schware at the close of the meeting Dec. 20, 2017.

Jones stepped down as a Lehigh County Commissioner for District 3.

Lehigh County Commissioners also adopted a work agreement with the Pennsylvania Social Services Union Local 668. Children and Youth Caseworker Supervisor Edwin Rodriquez spoke briefly to the commissioners and encouraged them to visit with members of the union and through “informal chats” learn more about what the social services workers are doing and learn more about the “challenges we face.”

Commissioner Brad Osborne thanked Rodriquez for his professional demeanor and conduct during the presentation.

The commissioners also approved a stormwater management plan for the Monocacy Creek watershed.

They also approved an appointment of Gabriel Kleis to the Lehigh County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Advisory Board.

In other business, the commissioners listened to the “first reading” of bills and gave their preliminary approval. The bills will be approved at the next regular meeting. Among the pending motions, resolutions and bill presented were mostly professional services agreements with various vendors.
