The Salisbury swimming and diving team took on Blue Mountain last week to open the 2017-18 season.

While the Falcons fell to the Eagles 101-80 in the girls meet and 100-57 in the boys team competition, there were several solid performances by Salisbury athletes.

Sarah Bobeck took first place in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events and was also part of a winning relay team. Teammates Cathryn Fitzsimmons (100 butterfly) and Madaket Chassard (500 freestyle) won one individual event each for Salisbury. The three also teamed up with Madison Jewell to take first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

In boys events, Salisbury’s Timothy Sechler-Stone earned a pair of individual wins, taking first place in the individual medley and breaststroke events. He also anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay team behind teammates Shane Artis, Cole Warmkessel and Baxter Reihman.
