In other business, Scott Stoneback and John Aleszczyk were approved to serve on the Alburtis Civil Service Commission. Thomas Miller was reappointed and Richard Kulbaba appointed to the Alburtis Zoning Hearing Board.
Susan Nensteil, finance manager for the Lower Macungie Township Library, gave a presentation on the renovations to be made this year at the library. The library currently is one large room, sectioned off for various purposes. The main focus of the project is a separate children’s room.
Nensteil said public fundraising will begin this spring, with completion of the project by December 2018.
According to Nensteil, 42 percent of Alburtis residents use the library. The borough will contribute $11,805 to the library in 2018.
