Doris Stearns was the lucky winner of the quilt made by the Quilting Group from the Weisenberg-Lowhill Township Historical Society.

The winning ticket was selected by Karen Rex, one of the quilters, Dec. 9 at the historical society’s annual cookie and soup sale.

Stearns, who works in the office of state Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, purchased the lucky ticket from another quilter, Donna Snyder, who also sold last year’s winning ticket.

She was very excited to win the quilt as she and her husband are building a house in the Danielsville area.

Married for 25 years, the couple has two daughters.
