Catherine Chen has been named Girl of the Month for November by Whitehall Township Woman’s Club.

She is the daughter of Mr. Xing Yun Chen and Mrs. Juan Yun Wu.

A high honor roll student, Chen is a member of several school groups including Leo Club (treasurer), Book Club, concert band, soccer team and varsity tennis team. She is a member of the English National Honor Society (founder/president), Mu Alpha Theta (president), National Honor Society and the Spanish and Science National Honor Societies.

She was a Zephyr Academy Student Athlete of the Month in 2014.

Chen also received the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Leadership in Character and is a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Chen participates in the Lehigh University High School Scholars program and serves as a National Society of High School Scholars ambassador. She was a Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America scholar for 2017 at Princeton University and has been part of the Teen Advisory Board for seven years.

She lived in China for several years and takes private violin lessons.

Chen plans to attend Stanford University or Princeton University to pursue a career in engineering or business.
