Christmas swings:The Frank DiBussolo Philly Reunion Group presents “A Swinging Philly Christmas,” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15, “Jazz Upstairs” series, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. DiBussolo, above, eight-time Grammy nominee, has accompanied Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Diane Carroll, and Vicky Carr. He has performed with the bands of Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Bucky Pizzarelli and Lester Lannin. In addition to DiBussolo, guitar, the Reunion Group includes James Del Orefice, piano; Dave DePalma, woodwinds; Bruce Kaminsky, bass, and Bruce Klauber, drums. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cash bar. Carpenters’ Christmas:Following her appearance at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in 2016 with “We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered,” Michelle Berting Brett returns to Easton’s State Theatre with “Merry Christmas Darling: Carpenters’ Christmas,” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Berting Brett is accompanied by a seven-piece Nashville band directed by Harry Sharpe. El Sistema holiday:El Sistema Lehigh Valley’s Holiday Concert 2017 is at 6 p.m. Dec. 19, Roosevelt Elementary School, 210 W. Susquehanna St., Allentown. El Sistema students will sing and “string” in the holiday season with your favorite seasonal tunes. El Sistema Lehigh Valley at Roosevelt Elementary School is a free music education program made possible through the Allentown Symphony Association’s collaboration with the Allentown School District.
