Winter camp

SWAIN

The Swain School, 1100 S. 24th St., Allentown, will offer two winter break camps for students currently enrolled in prekindergarten (age four) through eighth grade. The week-long camps will run Dec. 18 through Dec. 22. Information is available at www.swain.org/families.

Swain faculty will offer two Winter Camp Explorations. For students in grades four to eight, Swain Winter Camp Broadway will be packed with singing, dancing and acting. Students will learn songs from current and past Broadway musicals, write their own scenes and bring choreography to life. The camp will be taught by Veronica Bocian, Swain theatre director and Cassie Monaco, third grade teacher.

Students in prekindergarten through grade three can sign up for Swain Winter Camp Extravaganza. Four of Swain’s faculty will offer a variety of arts and crafts, games, academic fun, exercises, cooking, movies and more. It will be taught by elementary and prekindergarten teachers Sarah Kleppinger, Heather Manning, Kristin Blenis and Carole Henning.

The camps run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for five days; there is a cost. For those with additional childcare needs, before-camp care will be offered 7:30 to 9 a.m. and after-camp care 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be an additional charge for these services.
