Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is AP Environmental Science. I really enjoy the class because it is a combination of all the sciences, social studies and debate. The class has really opened my eyes to environmental issues that our earth faces.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Last year I received the West Point Dwight D. Eisenhower leadership award for academic and leadership excellence and I was inducted into National Honor Society. Throughout all of high school, I have been on the honor roll and the principal’s honor roll. At the end of last year’s swim season, I was voted the most improved swimmer on the boys swim team.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. Since freshman year, I have been a part of the high school boys swim team and I have been a member of EMAC, my local USA swimming team. I have participated in Boy Scouts throughout middle school and high school. This past September, I achieved the rank of Eagle. I have been the vice-president of our class throughout all of high school and I was elected the president of National Honor Society at the end of my junior year. I am currently involved in the Pediatric Cancer Club and Earth Watch Club.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I plan on attending either a military academy or college and participate in NROTC. After graduation from college, I want to serve in the Navy as an officer.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date was organizing and completing my Eagle Scout project at the Mercy School for Special Learning. The project required a lot of planning and hard work. With the help of my Troop, we were able to redo the landscaping in the front of the school. The project required a lot of physical labor and to make matters worse, there was a heat wave during the week of my project.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. After graduation, I would like to be remembered as a dedicated leader, a compassionate friend and a motivating teammate.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My mother’s name is Jennifer and my father’s name is Edward. I have an older brother named Troy and an older sister named Maura. I have an English yellow lab whose name is G.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My greatest role model is my father. He is extremely selfless and determined. His patience, positive attitude and determination inspire me to push myself to the best I can be. My father’s success as a military officer is what has inspired me to become a Naval officer myself.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice for my peers would be to get involved. The experiences and friends I have made from being a part of my different extracurricular activities are things I will cherish forever. I hope that everyone can have a great high school experience like I have had.
