Parkland High School 2010 graduate Samir Lakhani is running for CNN’s 2017 Hero of the Year Award for his founding and work with Eco-Soap Bank.

The bank is a global initiative that recycles leftover hotel soap and distributes them to Cambodia and villages in need of improved hygiene.

Lakhani requests the community’s support.

Votes can be cast for him at edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cnn.heroes/vote/.

The deadline to vote is Dec. 12.

The winner will be revealed during “CNN Heroes: An All-Start Tribute,” airing live Dec. 17.
