Congratulations to junior Tabitha Nowakor guessing closest to the correct number of candy bars – without going over – in this month’s reading workshop incentive candy jar, sponsored by the high school library. This time there were 200 pieces exactly, but many of the close guesses went just over the mark. The entire contents of the jar, plus your choice of a free new book, await you in Ms. Bower’s library office, Tabitha. Thanks to everyone for playing, and look for December’s jar for a new chance to win in just a few days.

The first contest of the American Computer Science League will take place next week. The topics of “Computer Number Systems,” “Recursive Functions” and “What Does This Program Do?” will be covered in computer science classes during periods 3, 4, 7 and 8 Dec. 11 and 12 in Room 366. Students may get a pre-signed pass if they are not in an actual class this semester. If a student wishes to pick up the programming problem today, it must be completed by the end of the day Dec. 11.

The EHS ceramics students are ready to open their business to customers. These young artists have been working hard to create ceramic products for your enjoyment. For the rest of this month, there will be beautiful handmade mugs for sale and some pendants as well. Come by Room 520 at the high school to see the showcase filled with items made by these talented ceramists. Shoppers can choose a favorite and make a purchase with an associate right there in Room 520. Look for a new item next month and keep them in mind for your holiday shopping.

A reminder that any early dismissal notes need to be on the EHS excuse blank and brought to the main office before first period. Students with late arrival should bring a note to the main office right after checking into the late arrival desk. Early dismissal notes should not be placed into the white mailboxes.

Mud club meets 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. every Tuesday for students who would like to make projects with clay and glaze finish them. All are welcome to play with clay and enjoy snacks.
