Supervisor Tony Werley, also township roadmaster, told other members of the Weisenberg board of supervisors his road crew is busy getting the equipment ready for winter.

Preparedness is key for the winter season, he said at the board’s Nov. 13 meeting.

The crew is also trimming brush and cleaning gutters throughout the township.

Township Administrator Brian Carl reported the state fee on permits related to the Universal Construction Code will increase 50 cents at the beginning of 2018.

The current fee is $4 per permit.

The mobile home permit for Titus Kauffman at 7330 Bausch Road was renewed by supervisors.

Carl, wearing his hat as fire chief, noted the Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Company responded to 150 calls so far this year.

Several items were put on hold until the supervisors’ December meeting.

Mini casinos, Hunt Meadows subdivision and updates to the employee manual will be under discussion at the next meeting.

Peter and Rachel Malkowics’ final plan for their land development was approved by the board contingent upon a favorable review by the Lehigh County Conservation District.

William Beitler and Peter Malkowics represented the plan.

Carl showed the board an award given to the township for the work done on Lyon Valley and Bachelor Road parks.

The baseball field at Lyon Valley Park and the soccer field at Bachelor Road Park were honored.

An outside contractor prepared the soccer field while the township crew, under the leadership of Tony Werley, constructed the baseball field.

Recreation projects were honored by the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission.

Carl gave credit to Werley for the work done at Lyon Valley Park.
