Nov. 22

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie, will host a Thanksgiving service with a hymn sing 7 p.m. A pie fest will follow the service. All are welcome. For information, call 610 965-3265.

Nov. 27

The Women’s Club of Emmaus will hold its monthly meeting 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. The program will be presented by Kathy Long on “Stories from the Heart.” Candy orders are due.

Nov. 28

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society quarterly meeting 7 p.m. with a show-and-tell of toys from your childhood or that you have collected. The meeting will be held at the Upper Milford Township building, Old Zionsville. Refreshments will be served after the program. All are welcome.

Nov. 29

Diakon Adoption & Foster Care will hold an informational session on providing foster care to children and youths, with a special focus on children with medically fragile conditions, 7 p.m. at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road. People interested in attending the session are asked to call 888-582-2230 or 610-682-1504 to register. The session is funded by a mini-grant from Pennsylvania’s Statewide Adoption & Permanency Network as part of National Adoption Month.

Dec. 1

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus, will hold its ninth annual Holiday Book Sale and Reception in the Margaret Knoll Gardner Room of the library. Held in cooperation with the Emmaus Main Street Partners holiday celebration, the sale will feature pre-enjoyed books for all interests and ages in gift-worthy condition at budget-pleasing prices. An Emmaus High School music ensemble will play seasonal music. Shoppers can sample wine, cheese and punch. The Friends will present a ceremonial check of $30,524 to the library, representing the organization’s annual contribution of $17,000, the funds raised by the spring used book sale, and other program support. The book sale and reception will be held 6 to 8 p.m.

Dec. 9

Old Zionsville UCC, Kings Highway and Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will host its annual cookie walk 8 a.m. to noon. Buy all of your favorite homemade holiday cookies and candies by the pound. Handmade toys also will be available for sale. A white elephant sale will be held in the upper social hall during the same time with tons of bargains and stocking stuffers. Dec. 11

Open house at the Wescosville Log House, 5047 Hamilton Blvd. Tours of the candle-lit house, warm drinks, cookies and harp music will be included in the event which is free and open to the public.
