Dorothy O. Hoffner Folk, 92, died peacefully Nov. 9, 2017, at the Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, 17th Street Campus, Allentown, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of George Folk and the late Donald Hoffner. They were married for 25 years. They resided in Bethlehem for many years.
She graduated from the former Allentown High School in 1943 and was employed at Lehigh Advertising, Lehigh Portland Cement Co. and Air Products and Chemicals, where she was the private secretary for the founder and CEO Leonard Pool, until his death. She was an active member of the Air Products Retirees’ Association and its volunteer organization.
A consummate volunteer, she worked with Head Start and the Lehigh Valley Hospice program, among others.
She is survived by children, Patricia Keifer, of Lincoln, Neb., Mary Lou and her husband Lawrence (Butch) Cressman, of Macungie, John Hoffner and his wife Cheryl, of New Tripoli, Tom Hoffner and his wife Sally, of Germansville; stepdaughter Carole and her husband Aldo D’Agostino, of York; sister Priscilla and her husband Terry Eckert, of Orefield; brother, William Tait Jr. and his wife Janet, of Loganville, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandchild; one great-grandchild; two stepdaughters and four sisters.
