Some information about the Salisbury Township proposed 2018 budget was incorrect in a Nov. 1 article in the Salisbury Press.

A water rate increase is proposed for Salisbury Township residents in the 2018 township budget. The rise is the result of an increase by the Lehigh County Authority.

There is no proposed increase in the sewer rate for township residents.

The proposed 2018 Salisbury Township budget includes seven personal replacement ballistic vests for $8,400.

The proposed budget also includes $55,000 for the purchase of a public works vehicle.

The proposed 2018 Salisbury Township budget will be read publicly at the 7 p.m. Nov. 21 board of commissioners’ meeting, after which a copy of the budget will be available to the public at the township municipal building during regular business hours and on the township website.

The board is expected to vote on the final budget and approval of the tax rate ordinance at its 7 p.m. Dec. 28 meeting.

The Press apologizes for these errors.
