Laid-off employees

LCCC:

Area employees who have been laid off have access to Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) Employment Retraining Opportunities (ERO), including a tuition waiver.

ERO information sessions in Room 107- 108, Alumni Center, LCCC main campus, Schnecksville, North Whitehall Township are: 11 a.m. - noon, Nov. 27; 2 - 3 p.m. Nov. 28, and 11 a.m. - noon Dec. 1.

To be eligible for funds, applicants must have been laid off from a full-time position within the past 12 months and be a resident of Lehigh, Carbon or Schuylkill counties, or have been working for an employer in those counties.

Applicants should complete an ERO application, submit a letter from the former employer and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). LCCC’s spring semester begins Jan. 12, 2018.

Approved applicants may register for credit courses from the state high-priority occupations, up to a maximum of four courses within one semester.

Students who applied for a selective program at LCCC and postponed starting until fall 2018 may be eligible to begin classes in spring 2018.
