The Whitehall-Coplay School Board offered a handful of goodbyes and one very important welcome at its meeting Nov. 13.
School board Vice President Lloyd Schafer and board members George Makhoul and Eileen Abruzzi participated in their last meeting for this term.
Abruzzi has served on the school board for 20 years. She was presented with a certificate of recognition by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.
The welcome was for Christopher Ohocin- ski, who was appointed as supervisor of sports medicine for Whitehall-Coplay School District. Ohocinski returns to WCSD in an expanded role after working in a part-time capacity in the district last spring.
In other business, the school board approved the high school’s proposed graduation plans. The 2018 ceremony will take place 7 p.m. June 4 at Stabler Arena, on the campus of Lehigh University, Bethlehem.
The school board’s committee meeting will take place Nov. 28, followed by a reorganization meeting Dec. 5.
