Creighton to serve as magisterial district judge in District 31-3-01

Tom Creighton, a Republican, and current Lehigh County commissioner, will soon be presiding as magisterial judge in District 31-3-01, Slatington.

The seat is now held by Rod Beck, who previously announced he would not seek reelection.

According to Lehigh County Voter Registration, Creighton garnered an unofficial 2,457 votes in Tuesday’s Municipal Election taking 55.78 percent of the vote.

Angelique Bailey, a Democrat, received an unofficial 1,937 votes, 43.97 percent of the total votes cast.

Creighton emailed The Press Wednesday morning:

“First, I want to thank all the people who came out to vote,” Creighton wrote. “It feels awesome to have won and to be given the opportunity to serve the judicial district as your next magisterial district judge.

“I want to thank all my supporters for their tireless efforts and for their prayers.

“While campaigning, I met a lot of nice people who care deeply about our community.

“We have a great community and I will work hard to help keep it that way.

“Also want to thank Angelique Papay Bailey for a cordial campaign and wish her the best in her law practice.”
