Job opportunities

The Center for Language Assessment of Bethlehem Area School District is seeking multilingual people who are willing to provide support to English learners and their families as a part-time English, Hindi and Vietnamese language guide on an as-needed basis,

Opportunities include providing language support for classroom learning, after school assistance, assessments, parent meetings, and special events. Training will be provided.

All volunteers and interested applicants must obtain the required clearances. Applicants need to submit an application through the Human Resources Office.

District chosen for Pa. Philharmonic concerts

The Bethlehem Area School District has been chosen to enter the John F. Kennedy Center “Arts for Every Given Child” program.

In honor of that action, the Pennsylvania Philharmonic will host a “pay-what-you-want (there is a suggested donation)” concert for Bethlehem residents at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at Northeast MS, 1170 Fernwood St. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 610-401-3650. Proceeds benefit the symphony’s school educational programs such as “Soundsational Science”, which BASD fourth graders will enjoy on Nov. 3.

Elementary collects for Puerto Rico

Freemansburg ES staff collected donations for Puerto Rico through the Life Church. Barbara Rodriguez was the organizer.

CHARTER ARTS

InVision Festival on Nov. 3

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will be holding a free First Friday reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 3 for the InVision Photography Festival exhibit in the Corpora Gallery, 321 E. Third St.

The artists are Jonathan Schimpf, Patricia Scialo, Carlos Reyes, Shawn Theodore, and Michael Fickes.

There will be digital and traditional photographic methodologies and photographs produced by visual art and photography elective students.

PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS

St. Anne’s Nov. 12 open house

St. Anne School will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the school, 375 Hickory St.

There will be guided tours, classroom activities and demonstrations, information sessions for parents, meet and greet opportunities with faculty members, displays and curriculum and enrollment information.

All faiths are welcome; transfer grants are available for students entering first through seventh grades. Some financial tuition assistance is available.
