Western Lehigh and East Penn Chambers of Commerce had a luncheon meeting Oct. 18 at the Cetronia Ambulance Corps, 4300 Broadway, South Whitehall Township.

The meeting was to introduce the business community to the role of business and community volunteers in public safety.

Presenters included Stephen Michelone Jr., volunteer agency liaison with Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Aaron Rhone, program manager with the Bureau of Emergency Services for Pennsylvania.

Their discussions included the need for business to recognize how they can contribute to public welfare in the event of a disaster, whether man-made or natural as well as the role they can play as employers of volunteer first responders.
