The St. Petersburg (Russia) Men’s Ensemble will perform a concert “The Masterpieces of Russian Classic Choral and Sacred Music” at Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, 3 p.m. Nov. 12. There will be light refreshments after the performance. The men will have CDs of their music as well as Russian crafts for sale.

The Macungie Minstrelaires will present “60 SONGSensational Years” at Lower Macungie Middle School. Show times are 8 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4. There is a matinee 2 p.m. Nov. 4. Tennis lessons will be offered at the Macungie Memorial Park gym 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24, Dec. 15 and 22. There will be a holiday party Dec. 22. The program is designed for children ages five to 11 years and focuses on tennis fundamentals with games and fun. Parents are welcome to stay and watch. All lessons will be held indoors. Instructors are USTA/Middle States Tennis Hall of Fame inductee and PTA certified developmental coach Bruce Kisthardt and Lisa Houser, a former college tennis player with teaching and health certifications. The 89th Annual Sheeprock Trek and Thanksgiving Sunrise Service will leave promptly 5:45 a.m. Nov. 23 (yes, Thanksgiving morning) from the Macungie Fire Company. Boy Scout Troop 71 will light the way up Macungie Mountain where there will be a brief Thanksgiving message. Girl Scout Troop 6413 will serve hot chocolate and donuts at the end of the hike. The event is coordinated by the Macungie Historical Society. Hikers should be prepared with flashlights, gloves and hiking boots.

The deadline for entries for the 15th Annual Gingerbread Creation Competition and Display is Nov. 30. Over $900 of awards will be given for different categories. The Macungie Holiday Lighting will take place at the Flower Park near the railroad tracks 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28. There will be holiday music and light refreshments.

Macungie Holiday will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 9. Local businesses, the historical society and Macungie Memorial Park participate in this borough-wide event. The Macungie Institute will feature farmer’s market vendors, Boy Scout displays and food and Santa, Mrs. Claus and Jasper the Bear for photos. There will also be a scavenger hunt, horse-drawn surrey rides, Nutcracker highlights performed by Coral’s Academy of Dance and gingerbread displays at Kalmbach Park.

The Ladies Auxiliary of Macungie VFW Post 9264 meets 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the post home. Macungie Rod and Gun Club Board meets 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the club.

Macungie Borough Council meets 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 20 at borough hall, 21 Locust St., Macungie.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held downstairs 7 p.m. Nov. 28. The public is welcome.
