Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, will host an authentic Pennsylvania German church service at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
The Rev. Guy Grube will offer the Breddich (sermon), and special music will be performed by the kids choir, the bell choir and the men’s quartet.
Refreshments will follow the service. The community is invited to attend.
Sermons in the area were still given in Pa. German dialect at the beginning of the 20th century.
Come and enjoy hearing the Mudderschprooch (mother tongue) expressed in worship.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have its annual trunk or treat night 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in the church parking lot.
Come dressed in a Halloween costume. Activities include bobbing for apples, decorating pumpkins and building a scarecrow contest. Refreshments will be available.
Deadline to purchase tickets for the Kauffman’s barbecue chicken dinner in support of “Wreaths Across America” is Oct. 29.
Pickup is 3-6 p.m. Nov. 9.

Just a reminder there will be a hub of activity at the Weisenberg Lowhill Historical Society, 4585 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli, from 6-8 p.m., Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 4 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5.
Members of the Society will present “Work of Our Hands” with a wine and snacks reception on Nov. 3 and featuring the artists on Nov. 4 and 5.
Featured will be Gene Allen, landscape painter of the local area; Russell Dotterer, woodworker; Jennifer Lynn Fink, Fraktur and photography; Alida Phillips, card making and paper crafting; Jennifer Phillips, pottery; Jeanne Stock, pastel painting; Debra L. Zvanut, basket weaving and decorative fused glass; and historical society quilters.
