SALISBURY TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT

During the Oct. 11 Salisbury Township School District board meeting, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Lynn Fuini-Hetten said, at the start of the school year the faculty and staff throughout the district were asked to “use their superpowers to help to realize Salisbury’s mission.”

Superpowers can range from talents in problem solving, to creative endeavors, from collaboration with others to abounding energy and many other distinctions in between. All Salisbury staff members are eligible for the award.

Fuini-Hetten and Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss developed a nomination form given to all of the Salisbury staff, as well as parents who attended an open house in the district.

“We got quite a few nominations and we sat down and selected one from each building. We visited four of the five buildings to present the awards,” Fuini-Hetten said. The remaining award was to be given Oct. 12.

Each recipient is given a mug created specifically for the award and the winner’s pictures will be posted on the district’s Facebook page.

All parties interested in nominating a Salisbury faculty or staff member for their superpower is welcomed and encouraged to do so by filling out the form on the STSD app, free through the App store or Google Play.
