The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test will be given 7:30 a.m. Oct. 26 in the multi-media room at Emmaus High School. Students interested in attending must register in the counseling office. This battery is required for anyone interested in being a part of the armed services; however, it is also a great resource for nonmilitary students in grades 10 through 12 seeking more information regarding careers. For information, contact counselors or Mr. McInerney in the counseling office.

The EHS Dance Team will host a designer handbag bingo fundraiser featuring bags by Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Coach and Vera Bradley Nov. 5 at the Alburtis Area Community Center. There is a cost for tickets. Doors will open 11:30 a.m. and games start 1 p.m. There will also be bingo specials, raffle baskets and food available for purchase. The EHS Drama Department presents William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” 7 p.m. Nov 2, 3 and 4 in the EHS auditorium.

Tickets can be reserved online via the EHS website. Tickets will be available in the EHS main office lobby 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and will also be available at the door. Come out to support the arts at EHS and enjoy an evening of great theater.

Gold card members may present gold cards in the main office or at the door to receive a complimentary ticket to any performance.

Congratulations to four PA Math League students who won first place at the Dickinson College Math Contest Oct. 17: Ishaan Lal, Bruce Wu, Millan Patel and Kevin Ge.

Anyone in homerooms 201, 234, 313, 364, 360 and 444 for flex block may pick up their school pictures in the athletic office.

The Class of 2020 is having a fundraiser at Chick-fil-A all week. Show a picture of the flyer at the register to have 10 percent of your purchase go to the class. Come out and show your support.

The American Computer Science Club will meet Oct. 25 in Room 366. Students will be learning lists in Python. Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit competition students will have a mandatory practice during the meeting. This practice will run until 4:30 p.m. The rest of the club will meet until 3:30 p.m. Any questions, see Mrs. Stoudt in Room 366.

Attention seniors – Are you applying to Kutztown University? The EHS Counseling Department and Kutztown University will host an Instant Decision Day at EHS Nov. 2. Interested students can apply to Kutztown University for free using the fee waiver code: AFBE and then sign up for Instant Decision Day in the counseling office before Oct. 25. Students must provide proof of a completed your application (i.e., the email confirmation received or screenshot of the submitted page) to sign up for the Instant Decision Day. Please see Mrs. Tisi in the counseling office to register.

EHS has announced the counseling department and East Stroudsburg University will hold an Instant Decision Day at EHS Nov. 15. In order to sign up, students will need to submit an application and ESU will waive the application fee after Instant Decision Day. See Mrs. Tisi in the counseling office before Nov. 9 to register. Students must provide proof of a completed application (i.e., the email confirmation received or screenshot of the submitted page) to register for this opportunity.

The next No Place for Hate meeting is 2:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 in Room 566.

Any 10th grade student who is interested in the HOBY Leadership Seminar should pick up an application from Mrs. Bray in the guidance office; return the completed application to Mrs. Bray or Ms. Burk by Oct. 30.

Habitat for Humanity will host a spaghetti dinner 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 4 in Café 1.

Picture re-take day is Nov. 7. Students can sign up in the activities office to have a picture taken. Order forms will also be available to place a new order.

The 2016-2017 yearbooks are in. If ordered, pick up a copy in the main office. Books also will be available for sale in the main office.

Interested in doing ceramics? The Mud Club meets 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. each Tuesday in Room 520. Stop by for snacks and conversation and have fun with clay.
