Grade: 12th
Family members: Stephanie Smith (mother), Eric Smith (father), Hallie Smith (sister)
Favorite subject: My favorite subject in school is Science, I love learning how the world works and how we build the world that we live with everyday.
Activities: Outside of my classes at Freedom, I am a 4 year varsity and 10 year competitive swimmer and a member of Freedom’s National Honor Society.
Next steps (after high school): After I graduate, I hope to pursue an education in Civil Engineering and later begin a career in that field.
Career goals: I plan to become a civil nngineer who works hard everyday.
Heroes: My biggest heroes are Michael Phelps and my father. Michael Phelps always works hard for what he believes in and reaps the rewards. My father rose from a life of nothing to become a principal and an outstanding parental figure.
Hobbies: In my spare time, I am caught experimenting with my 3D printer and reading up on interesting things about our world.
Current job(s): Currently I am seen working at the Bethlehem Dairy Store where I have been for 3 years. In the summer I also work as a lifeguard at the pool I swim at.
Volunteer/community work: Through over 200 hours of community service, I have worked many places. I helped teach a class at Vacation Bible School at my church, taught children how to swim at the club I compete at, and timed races at Special Olympics Swimming for 2 years.
Likes: I like learning new things, being with my family and friends, and positively changing other’s lives.
Dislikes: I dislike those who put others down and seafood.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment so far was when I broke and set the 100 fly record at my swim club and proved to my team-mates that anyone can achieve great things when they work and try hard.
Advice for peers: Nothing in life worthwhile is easy. Those who work hard for what they want will always come out happy. Follow what makes you happy and never let anyone stop you from doing what you like.
