Performances and showcases are back in full swing at the Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts during the first months of school. Students and faculty in each department work diligently towards their fall performance season.

This past weekend, the Charter Arts Theater Department put on its first official showcase of the year, “Waiting for Godot.” The play featured select students from all grades in the Charter Arts theater program. Keep an eye out for many more fantastic theater performances throughout the 2017-18 school year.

The Music Department will host Jazz Cafe Thursday, Oct. 26 in the Charter Arts theater. The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased upon arrival.

November kicks off with Vocalist Cafe Thursday, Nov. 2 at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem. This performance features our outstanding vocal music students of all grades paired with instrumental music students in a wonderful night of song. Reservations are suggested and can be made at www.godfreydaniels.org.

On Friday, Nov.3, the Visual Art department will host their First Friday at Charter Arts, a free art reception in the Corpora Art Gallery, located on the school’s campus. The public is greatly welcomed and may enter from Third Street.

An Evening with Guitar is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 7 in the Charter Arts theater. This performance features guitar students of all grades in a brilliant night of instrumental music to be held in the Charter Arts theater from 7-9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival.

The Theater Department will host their production of “Steel Magnolias” beginning Friday, Nov 17 at 7 p.m. Additional performances will take place Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Charter Arts website or upon arrival.

The Instrumental Music Department will host its Chamber Ensembles Concert Thursday, Nov. 30, featuring select groups of instrumental music students. The show will take place in the Charter Arts theater from 7-9 p.m., and tickets will be sold at the door.
