Eder in concert:Linda Eder’s repertoire spans Broadway, standards, pop, country and jazz. The award-winning actress returns to the State Theatre of the Arts stage at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14. As the tragic character, “Lucy,” in the Broadway musical, “Jekyll & Hyde,” Eder belted out the signature songs, “Someone Like You” and “A New Life.” Eder launched her recording career in 1991 with her self-titled debut album. Her 17 solo albums include “Retro Volume 1.” Eder has been on PBS TV concert specials, including “Clay Aiken’s Tried & True,” “Hallelujah Broadway” and “Linda Eder: The PBS Concert.” Her 2001 holiday concert, “Christmas Stays the Same,” was broadcast on Bravo TV and continues to be a popular-selling DVD. Some theory:Theory of a Deadman, a Canadian rock band from British Columbia, performs at 8 p.m. Oct. 13, Sherman Theatre, Stroudsburg. The band incorporates a variety of music genres, including country, post-grunge and alternative rock. The groups has had eight Top 10 hits on the US Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including two No. 1 hits, “Bad Girlfriend” and “Lowlife.” The band released its eponymous debut album, “Theory of a Deadman” in 2002. The band’s name is from a song on its first album. The band is to release a new album, “Wake Up Call,” Oct. 27 and has released a music video for the song “Rx,” from the album. Colour my world:Living Colour performs at 8 p.m. Oct. 13, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. The group (singer Corey Glover, guitarist Vernon Reid, bassist Muzz Skillings, and drummer Will Calhoun) first formed in the mid-1980s. Living Colour’s debut album, “Vivid,” was released in 1988. The band’s video for “Cult of Personality” was an MTV favorite, pushing “Vivid” to platinum certification. Living Colour has received several Grammy Awards, with “Cult” receiving Best Hard Rock Performance. Skillings left the group and was replaced by studio veteran Doug Wimbish, Living Colour broke up in 1995 and got back together in 2001.
