Homecoming is right around the corner. If you are a Salisbury grad, why not come out to your old stomping grounds and support the football team? Who knows, you might run into some old classmates. The game starts 7 p.m. Oct. 13 versus Northern Lehigh. Actually, come out a little early, line the streets around the high school and watch the annual Homecoming parade. Go Falcons!

Keeping with Homecoming tradition, Salisbury High School will host the Homecoming dance 7 p.m. Oct. 14.

The Salisbury Middle School and SHS cheerleaders will hold a flapjack breakfast fundraiser 8 to 10 a.m. Oct. 14 at Applebees, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown. If you don’t know a cheerleader to buy tickets from or for more information, contact Coach Paula at pdouris@salisbury.org.

The SHS German exchange program is continuing their fundraising basket raffle at the next two home football games Oct. 13 and 20. Thirty-three baskets are up as prizes, ranging in value from $40 to $200. For more information, contact Frau Spradlin at kspradlin@salisburysd.org.

Western Salisbury Elementary School will have its fall book fair Oct, 18 to 20. Students will visit the book fair with their classrooms during the school day. If you would like to go with your student or purchase books as gifts, there will be a time during the Fall Fest on the evening of Oct. 20. There will be book bingo and a cake auction. Bring the whole family!

There is a district-wide early dismissal Oct. 20. SHS and SMS will dismiss 10:45 a.m. and Harry S Truman Elementary School and WSE dismiss 1 p.m.

SMS will hold a Phantoms night Nov. 29. Tickets are on sale now. You can either print out the order form on the SMS website or call the office at 610-791-0830.

There is a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the administration building.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold its autumn-themed community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 14. Special menu items include sausage apple breakfast strata, sweet potato oatmeal bake and pumpkin cinnamon rolls. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the CROP Walk.

The Devonshire drop-off will be open Oct. 17 and 21. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
