Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., is hosting a holiday card making workshop 11 a.m. Oct. 14.
Learn how to make two homemade and personalized holiday cards from an experienced card maker.
The library is hosting a book character costume party for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth grade 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21.
Dress as your favorite book character or author. Prizes will be given for best costumes.
Enjoy some sweet treats and games.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will have a Halloween hot dog stand 6-8 p.m. Oct. 27 in front of Strohl Automotive, 7831 Main St., Fogelsville. Everyone is invited to stop by.
St. John’s will host two concerts in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
The first will feature a performance by Recordante (recorders and woodwinds) at 3 p.m. Oct. 15. The second will feature a brass quintet at 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
A freewill offering will be collected. All are welcome to atted.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, is hosting a Saturday Family Friendly gathering 6-6:55 p.m. Oct. 21.
This event will include a lesson, fun songs and family activities.
There will be light refreshments. All are welcome to attend.
The church will host its annual trunk or treat 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume.
Event activities will include bobbing for apples, pumpkin decorating and a build your own scarecrow contest.
Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated trunks. If you plan on decorating your trunk, arrive by 5:30 p.m.
Judging begins 7 p.m. with the top four prizes announced at 7:45 p.m.
Donations of cupcakes, juice, apple cider and other goodies are needed.
