LOWHILL TOWNSHIP: Christ’s Church at Lowhill to host penny party
Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will have its Harvest Home service 10 a.m. Oct. 15.
Bring fresh produce and canned goods to be offered in support of the Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, as they celebrate and bless the harvest for God’s good provision.
To contribute to the Harvest Home service but are unable to attend, call 610-842-4781 for drop off times.
The church will have a penny party Oct. 20. Bring pennies and loose change.
Doors open 5:30 p.m. Game starts 7 p.m.
Food will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 drawing.
Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ’s Jason and Bill.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will host its annual spaghetti dinner 4-7 p.m. Nov. 4.
Menu includes spaghetti with homemade meatballs, salad, garlic bread, beverages and homemade desserts.
Walk-ins are welcome.
Tickets will be on sale before and after worship on Sundays during October or by calling Paul at 610-395-6885.
Donations of homemade baked goods may be dropped off at the church Nov. 3 and 4.

The church is accepting orders until Oct. 15 for the hoagie sale. Pick up will be 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 24.
Choose between regular with everything or no onions or peppers, ham and cheese, turkey, roast beef, tuna, or veggie.

There will be a hayride at 1 p.m. and sundae social and movie, “Dr. Doolittle II” at 2 p.m.
The church is accepting orders until Nov. 5 for its candy sale.
Pick up will be 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 2.
Choose from either light or dark peanut or raisin clusters, cashew patties, peanut butter, coconut crème or molasses coconut eggs, caramels, light covered pretzels, dark chocolate crème filled peanut roll eggs and more.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is hosting Ottertoberfest Oct. 14.
This annual autumn event will feature an assortment of arts and crafts vendors, a pumpkin patch, craft beer and otter-related activities and live music from Happy Dutchman German Band.
International Sloth Day will be celebrated Oct. 15.
Meet the zoo’s education ambassador and resident sloth, Bean.
Boo at the Zoo will be Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29.
Trick and treat will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the zoo. Kids are invited to wear Halloween costumes.
There will be candy stations, arts and crafts tables, vendors, music and costumed characters walking around.
All these events will offer hands-on interactive experiences, keeper talks and up close encounters with some of your favorite animals during the Wonders of Wildlife encounters.
