Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley hosted its annual fundraiser, “Rally Through the Valley” recently.

Motorcyclists from all over the area attended to show their support by starting the 60-mile road-ride at Nazareth Borough Park and ending the trip at Emmaus Community Park.

Activities included a corn hole tournament at noon. Corn hole is similar to a bean-bag toss but the players use bags filled with dried corn. Next came the pig roast and gift basket raffles. At 1 p.m., the riders arrived to enjoy a meal and listen to the guitar twosome, the Dynamic Duo. A door prize giveaway, raffle drawing, best poker hand prize and awards for the two highest pledges collected soon followed. The day wrapped up with the final round of corn hole.

Sponsors included Rider Insurance, Arbor Insurance Group, Inc., The Lehigh Valley Pitbull Awareness Club, U.S. Law Shield of PA, B.Braun and C & D Street.

Emmaus and Nazareth police department personnel were present at both locations for the annual event.

Suzanne Beck, executive director of Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley, has been working for 27 years in her role to serve those who’ve been personally affected by local crimes. Beck stated how thankful she is for the faithful support of the public for this event.

“We have riders who’ve been with us for 18 years. We really appreciate all of our riders and they do make a difference. You can also, certainly, just come here and buy a pig ticket and hang out,” Beck said.

Scott R. Snyder, president of the board of directors of Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley, served as a Pennsylvania State Police Officer for 32 years and has seen firsthand how the organization has made a positive difference in the area.

“You’ve seen them help the people in need and the impact they’ve had in the communities. It’s part of why I volunteer – you see the good they do.”

One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the event benefits victims of crime in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley provides free programs and services to the public.
