In the Sept. 27 edition of The Press, we reported on the Lantern Festival at Bell Gate Farm scheduled for Oct. 14.

Although the Lower Milford Township Supervisors voted unanimously to rescind the permit for the event, we did not mention it was contingent on approval from Solicitor Mark Cappuccio.

Solicitor Mark Cappuccio reported at the Oct. 5 meeting the permit could not be rescinded.

In a conversation with Bell Gate Farm Owner Stephanie Stevens Oct. 10, Stevens said she did not request the permit be revoked at the Sept. 21 Lower Milford Township Supervisors meeting. Stevens said the township pointed out Vive Events did not comply with the guidelines they agreed to with the township.

Stevens said she attended the meeting to apologize to the residents, anyone who was inconvenienced and the township about the event held Sept. 9. She said Vive Events did not do exactly what they said they were going to do. Stevens said she also did not state Vive Events was in breach of the agreement.

In addition, Stevens said residents of Lower Milford Township were invited to the Oct. 14 Lantern Festival at no charge and letters were to be distributed to residents with instructions on how to obtain the free admission.
