Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department holds ninth annual Community Day

Warm but pleasant weather helped bring friends and neighbors for Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire department’s ninth annual Community Day activities held Sept. 23 at the department’s Swain fire station and the adjacent Green Acres Park.

Bounce rides and games, vehicle and equipment demonstrations, fire prevention and education activities, a popular Balloons the Clown comedy and magic show and picnic food by Smokin’ Smitty’s Catering provided something for everyone at the family-oriented open house.

Fire Department President Adam Al-Khal said the department’s firefighters “look forward each year to interacting with residents of our community and we are gratified that so many come out to show their support for what we do.”
