A 51-year-old Carbon County man died after being involved in a two-vehicle crash around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in the area of 2907 Mountain Road, Washington Township.
Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas pronounced Ronald Dana Graver Jr., of the 60 block of Lafayette Trail, Lehighton, dead at 5:25 p.m. the same day.
Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said the cause of Graver’s death was attributed to multiple blunt force injuries. His death was ruled an accident.
According to State Police Troop M Bethlehem, Graver’s vehicle and another vehicle driven by Robert Edward Green of the 8000 block of Reservoir Road, Heidelberg Township, were observed at their respective points of final rest on Mountain Road, partially on the road and on the grassy berm.
Police say during the investigation it was determined Graver’s was traveling east on Mountain Road, when for unknown reasons his vehicle crossed over the double yellow line into the westbound lane on Mountain Road.
Green was westbound on Mountain Road as Graver’s vehicle entered his lane of travel, police say.
According to police, the front end of Graver’s vehicle struck the front end of Green’s vehicle in the westbound lane of Mountain Road.
Green was treated and transported by Northern Valley Ambulance Emergency Medical Services to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of his injuries.
Emerald and Friedens fire departments and rescue along with fire police and Carl’s Towing assisted at the scene.
