True spirit! Donations of any kind of baked goods made with apples are wanted for the Allentown Soup Kitchen and may be dropped off 6-7 p.m. Oct. 9 in Heidelberg Church’s Fellowship Hall.

According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 127 hot meals were served recently to men, women and children at the soup kitchen.

The meal included fish, tossed salad, vegetable soup, rice, pears, rolls and wonderful chocolate desserts made by many faithful Heidelberg bakers.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Pastor Karen Yonney, Sheri Hausman, Doris and Richard Koenig, Shirley Boger, Barbara Matthias, Robin Koch and Linda Hausamann.

Warm weather clothing is now being collected for those in need at the soup kitchen.

Boxes will be located in the narthex and hallway for donated items.

To find out more about helping at the soup kitchen, contact Linda at 610-767-5281.
