EAST PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT

Students in the East Penn School District are working to send relief to their fellow students in areas damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

Jefferson Elementary School – Jefferson SOARS into Houston-Jefferson Elementary helped their elementary school counterparts at Cimarron Elementary School in Houston. Cimarron is a building housing pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, just like Jefferson, and their families have been heavily impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Cimmaron’s principal, Cynthia Galaviz, has indicated their greatest needs include student uniforms and clothing.

Alburtis Elementary School – Students, parents, family, friends and community members helped support the Alburtis Helping Hands After Harvey charity event and raised $783. This money will be donated to HISD – Houston Independent School District to aide in their purchase of materials for students who were impacted by the hurricane.

Emmaus High School - Red Cross Club – EHS Red Cross Club held an Adopt-a-Classroom supply drive in conjunction with Lincoln Elementary School’s fourth grade classes.

East Penn School District Administration – EPSD administration building staff held a Casual for a Cause Day to benefit Hurricane Harvey victims and raised $267 which was donated to the Houston Food Bank.

Macungie Elementary School – Students and families collected over 20 boxes of goods to mail to a school 30 minutes outside of Houston. The work and support of Macungie Elementary School will directly benefit the students and families of The Conroe Independent School District in Conroe, Texas.

Shoemaker Elementary School – Shoemaker has adopted a school in Houston and will be collecting school supplies in October.

Willow Lane Elementary School – Willow Lane is hosting a pajama program to collect new pajamas and books for the children of Texas.
