Friedens Lutheran Church, 9727 Red Road, Stony Run, Kempton, will host a benefit concert for Steven Wasser at 2 p.m. Oct. 8.

Pastor David Reinwald from Kissinger’s Church, Wyomissing, and other members of his Rocky Mountain Band will perform the rich and majestic music of the beloved John Denver, Elvis and others.

The concert is to benefit Wasser, the 34-year-old sexton of Friedens Lutheran Church.

Wasser had a major stroke in July and has been hospitalized and in rehabilitation since then.

There will be no cover charge for this concert but a freewill offering will be taken.

Proceeds from this concert will be given to Wasser to defray medical costs related to his hospitalization and rehabilitation.
